At home I tend to use Google Documents & Spreadsheets.

You can save all your stuff online so you dont' need to remember to take a memory stick with you from ofice to office/remember to email it/remember which company network you saved it on.

If you want you can also download/import it to any other populur office suite.

All you need it a google mail account.

Default Openoffice suite

Anyone use the openoffice software suite? I'm thinking of downloading this to use in place of ms-office...microsoft prices are way too much for my tight pockets

I use it as MS Office is not available for my main OS (Linux). It will do everything a regular user may want to do with MS Office. It is just a matter of getting used to the slightly different placement of certain options in the menus.
Go for it!

I really wanted to like OpenOffice, but found it so slow and clunky...

Yeah... i use it, because I am a linux head. I must run Linux or OSX. Windows is not close to stable for me.

OSX runs MS office, and if I was to run OSX i would pick MS office.
But, I prefer linux because its amazing so, I chose Open Office.

Its grand. I dont use it much. I dont like it much. But, its grand. They are trying, I will give them that. It is heavy, and slow. It looks ugly enough to me. It seems to just keel over now and again. But, the job usually gets done.
