Default Dies when trying to trottle

Hi there, I've been surfing the web/treads since winter and I've yet to get myself riding yet despite doing everything I come across on these forums.

PROBLEM:
My 2000 SVS starts with choke, and after it warms up it will idle at about 1200. But if i touch the trottle, the engine will sputter and cut out. If I turn up the choke, the idle will wander anywhere from 3500rpm down to 2000rpm and backfire. Without choke it just stays at 1200.

HISTORY:
Had it in storage for about a year w/o stabilizer in the tank and when i took her out, she wouldn't start. i ended up draining the tank and filled up with fresh fuel some seafoam, I've also took the carbs off and cleaned them and replaced the spark plugs, thats is where I am now.

I've checked for stuck choke, sprayed some carb cleaner to check for air leaks.

Anyone have anything that would help? Thanks.

yes give the carbds and jets a good clean if its been sitting for a bit they block up after a while and cause different problems.

okay, thanks everyone! up and running good now. i got the carbs off earlier this afternoon and the bowls had rusty powder in them, even though I cleaned it a couple weeks ago. I'm guessing I should have cleaned the inside of the tank and used some sealant. Is the rust from the tank going to go away with later fill ups? I installed an in-line fuel filter just incase.

Thanks again.
