We had snow and hailstones yesterday!!!! Down at Mikes farm and it started snowing followed by golf ball hailtones. WTF and it's July in a few days.
I was browsing long range forecasts in the hope that summer will arrive but according to all the main weather websites its not looking good at all. Quote from Metcheck..... "At present, the eastern sea surface temperatures of the Pacific remain below average, but this is decreasing and there is evidence that the "nearly" La Nina conditions could decline further in the next month or so. However, development of true El Nino conditions look unlikely and the highest confidence is that very weak La Nina conditions will prevail for the rest of this year. This one feature, has more effects on the UK weather than many give credit for, in fact, the lack of Summer weather is already being attributed to this sea temperature anomaly. Also, some forecasters are already signalling an interesting Winter ahead if the conditions continue. Latest model indications show that high pressure is incredibly reluctant to build across Western Europe, however many longer range forecasts still point towards an improvement in July and August" |

This must mean that Global Warming means Wet Scotland. 12 month winters. I have never liked the heat so I am not complaining. |

Global warming...apparently means we get colder wetter summers and milder drier winters.
My lobelia's are not even in bud and my lillies have died back. Feckin weather! I've been needing to paint the rhones and gutters for the past week and it never stays dry long enough. |

![]() Anyway, as a trained meteorologist* (really) I can promise you that the absolute limit on accurate forecasting is 4 hours, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. ![]() * - OK, I did a module at college and it was 19 years ago but I could still knock you up a synoptic chart from the observations! Probably. |
