Default Bike Cleaning

Ok, so i have just spent the last 3hrs cleaning my bike. (Not kwak clean but clean enough for me )

Usual task ...plenty of Muc off on wheels in a vain attempt to clean grease etc. spray bike clean, wash with car shampoo, cleaned pipes with Autosol (I am now an Autosol slave!! Have to keep the pipes shiny but not kwak shiny!)

Polished the rest of the bike, its all clean but back wheel was still "sticky"...now i have gone through countless brushes, clothes and hrs to try and clean it, but tonight (after reading it on here i think) i used....Mr muscle oven cleaner!! OMG!! i should have used it so much sooner douh!!

Spray on leave for 15-20 mins (not to long or will start taking paint off) and wipe off sorted!! no more icky grease!! yeah!!!

Now how can i clean the exhaust without all that hard effort of rubbing the pipes for ages with various clothes, scrubbing pads and wet and dry??

I'll second that, paraffin's a great degreaser...and cheap as chips

Don't know if you've tried it but I find I can polish the final layer of crap off the wheels - just wash off most of it and get a good finish with a layer of polish

White Spirit (aka Turpentine Substitute) works a treat on wheels and only costs £1.50 per 2 litre bottle.

much like your self i spent a good wodge of the day cleaning my bike, as for the wheels . . i use industrial strength grease remover from the power station where my pop works . . . kinda like a citrus liquid thing, bit of that on the wheels and it gleams slight layer of back to black and BINGO shiny rims,
still need to get some of that damm auto sol . . . where can i get it again?

I buy my autosol from Hein Gericke, but you have to put a lot of effort in to it, but once you get the shiny effect its hard to stop"!
