I saw that park on a TV program once, looks incredible... They had a group of pro riders and a group of casual downhillers riding it, needless to say it was CARNAGE with the less good guys, those hugh trails were a) irresistable and b) quite narrow

I used to be alright. I wouldn't want to hit the raised wooden bits at speed, even when I was at my best, though. No margin for error there.

I think I'd p*** myself on the big slide, though.

there is a big mountain bike place in peebles. i remember stopping for a coffee and cake at the place that does it. quite fancy trying it with the kids. you can hire bikes etc and there are loads of different routes. need to get fit first though. as for the zip wire, did a parachute jump last year to cure my fear of heights. it didnt work

Glentress by any chance? Been there a few times, Mr Wolf is right into his downhill biking (mad fecker ) and I just pootle about on the slightly less life-threatening runs. There's plenty of things to do for riders of all abilities.

Oh, and it's worth the trip just for the carrot cake in the cafe...

(just don't go alone like my mate Dan did when he fell off the vert ramp and mangled his arm: bust his wrist, broke his shoulder and pushed his radius/ulna right through his elbow into the open air, nasty... )

KK - it's glentress at Peebles you're talking about. Its part of the 7 stanes network which spans accross the borders. My sis lives in peebles which is great for staying over and the boozer at night.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6J59Lg8DNyI Innerleithen and glentress stuff. My kinda thing but getting to old for this now. Gave up competing 2 years ago.
