Default OK Windoze guru's (Excel Question)

How do I

Automatically change a cells background colour dependant upon content.

For instance if a cell contains Y colour it green and if N then colour it red

Look at the conditional formatting on the format menu- If cell value is "Y" then choose the colour in the formatting options- add another one and do the same for "N" then choose the colour in the formatting options for that condition.

Oh Ian, what it is to have led such a sheltered life and never experienced the true "grimness" that is ooop North.

Our future is bright, houses are affordable, beer cost less than £2 a pint, roads are empty, no congestion charges, green fields, fresh air. 30 minutes from Madchester & Liverpool, 50 Mins from the Lake district. Can see the west Pennine moor from my front window. Gas Central heating, electric lighting, occasional Kestrel eating the pigeons on my back lawn. Chips with gravy and babbies eds. No asylum seekers, 8 premiership clubs within 30 miles.

Oh t'is indeed grim up here
