Default Is it right ???..

..that I have only just entered the great world of biking...
..that my new SV only has 300 miles on the clock..
..that I don't even own a proper set of leathers/textile suit

..and yet...

I am already looking for a new bike ??

Don't get me wrong, I love my SV. Its new, its cute, its abit of a growler and it's mine BUT why do I still persist on looking in Bike Trader et al. I am trying to pinpoint exactly why I am looking (ie : faster bike, more grunt, styling) but I can't put my finger on it..

Is the ownership of motorbike going to go through this pertetual cycle of swapping and upgrading? I have a crappy old peugeout 206 which I love, wouldn't change it for the world - why is it then that I am so restless with my bike ??

it's because you're still running it in, i felt the same, let it go, wait until you can unleash the beast after 1000m and you'll be grinning ear to ear. after 3000m it all starts to come together and surfaces where you'd freak out and tense up become much easier to ride, you're more relaxed and comfortable and as a result your riding takes on a less mechanical and more spiritual approach, you're in a state of zen like oneness with the machine and nothing can stop you

having said that, i did buy another bike a few weeks ago though...

Some people never settle, I know folks who change bikes about every 6 months, and others who're always deciding to sell but then don't, for whatever reason. Alternatively, it could be that it's just not the bike for you, it does happen... But it's just a wee bit premature for that

Wait until its bedded in and then decide.

I sometimes question whether or not to upgrade, but then i have rides like this weekend......

Glorious day.....

Very long ride in the derbyshire dales.....

Finish at matlock.....

Head for home on same route I have done 1000 times before....

Give a GSXR1300 a good run for his money on some of my favourite twisties....

Have him ask me if the bike is an SV1000, before pointing out the 650 stickers and seing his face drop....

Wash the bike to showroom clean for 3hours....

Brilliant....

Wouldnt be half as fun on a high screaming SS that supposed to be quick and can never really give it beans.

When you find the right bike you'll stick with it, but give the SV a chance till its run in properly. If its your first bike, you'll be in for a pleasant surprise.

I looked and looked, till I found my GSXR now I'm settled its all the bike and more than I'll ever want.

I'm on my fourth bike since 2003, and I am always thinking of what I want next. Can't afford it at the moment but would like a FireBlade (the 954cc version from 2002/3) or a GSXR750, always looking on the internet despite lack of funds.

Don't make the mistake of actually going into a bike showroom, if you're anything like me you will end up with another bike....

Mine's done 1500 miles now, and I'm still constantly thinking of other bikes....

I want an Aprilia RSV1000, and a Kwak ZRX1200, and a Triumph 675 Daytona, and a Triumph Speed Triple, and a Yam XJR1300, and a Suzuki VanVan, and a........

...see my problem?
