Default fuel economy

my recent trip to Cornwall was a little different this year? i didn't see many 90-100+ mph cars in the 3rd lane of the motorway breaking their necks to get past? is the cost of fuel hurting people now?
the front page of our local paper says that this bank holiday has seen less cars on the roads due to raising fuel costs,
i drove conservatively down the M5 this year sticking to about 70mph on cruise control and saw my cage returning 47mpg! (if this is accurate)
are you all driving your cages different? i still ride my bike like a knob tho

I'm struggling, used to put £45 in my cage every 2 week, it's now costing me £75 every 2 week and i get 55mpg. I now try and leave it at home, means less trips out. I still ride my bike like a knob aswell, though can't afford to take it out as much as i would like. Grrr i need a pay rise.
£1.30 per ltr now, when i got my car is was 73p per ltr

Thats because the M5 has a local reputation for being full of coppers from J17 to J21 even I dont speed on that bit anymore !!

I drive my mondeo estate td no faster than 70 anywhere, and ideally at 60mph to try get maximum mpg out of it. I try to get the wife to do the same in her Picasso.

The bike gets abused though! Or whats the point of having a bike?

I've certainly noticed a change in motorway traffic, I remember when the fast lane would cruise at at least 90 and you could go for miles and miles at that speed. I went out last weekend and was still able to overtake in lane 3 just doing 65. I don't know whether it's fuel or camera vans, a bit of both I'd imagine.

The roads and road users are defo changing. My cage is crap and doesnt go much quicker than 90mph anyway

I slow down if I'm running out of money in my fuel account otherwise I drive normally lol.

Dont have a car anymore & now my suspendies are sorted, no, I ride like a male hen
I went to Rhyl for a ride yesterday & the A55 was clear until the turning for Conway. Traffic was queued right the way down the slip road. I used the old coast road through Queensferry etc, but again the roads were fairly quiet & so was Rhyl It's the credit crunch i tell you, thats what the press keep saying anyway
