Default Possibly been mis-sold a bike?

As me and the other half want to do a lot of touring next year we've been looking at a few bikes and got a good deal on a (don't throw things at me!) BMW K1200 LT Lux this weekend.

Now from what I understood this is supposed to have all the bells and whistles including heated seats and a 6 CD changer.

Having picked it up from the BMW dealership it appears to be a standard K1200 LT (No heated seats or CD changer).

Would I be within my rights to go back and either get some money back or get them to fit these free as the paperwork definantly says it's the LUX model and all the blurb I can find definantly says these should be included.

Paid 10K for a 2007 2nd hand with 6k miles but I can't find any other examples to see if I've paid over the odds for a standard 2007 LT, or if I've paid an LT price for a bike mislabeled as a Lux?

If you buy second hand even from a dealer then it may be sold as seen, you may get some joy from them on a customer service point but legally not sure where you would stand. dvla the reg / vin or contact bmw to see if its the lux or not. I nearly bought a bandit 1250gt, but when i actually saw it the guy who had traded it in had removed the fairings, and gps before traiding it in. technically it was a gt but in reality was now only the sa.

Ahh poopy, thanks for the advice, yeah it definantly checks out as a LUX but is specced to SE standards.
Will call and have a word, did ask about how the seats work at the time and was told "it's all in the manual" and left happy at that, also saw the CD changer, but didn't check in details to realise it's a single CD not the 6 changer it's meant to be, my own fault but I was a little nervous and was more concerned about getting the thing off the forecourt in one piece as it's bigger than I expected it to be!

PM me the name of the dealer as I have a friend works in a BMW dealership who might be able to shed some light on this.

You have PM, much appreaciated, they were stella and even picked us up from the Airport so I'm sure it's an honest mistake or an oversite on my part, didn't realise people would be cheeky enough to remove parts before selling it but then I've never really bought or ridden anything with extras before =p.

Lesson learnt =)

Have you actually spoken the the dealship in question to discuss it with them? Might be easily rectified to your satisfaction with any issues whatsoever if you give them the chance...

If you bought it from a dealer, you have proof it was advertised as a lux, and it actually isnt.

Then you have lots of legs to stand on, contact the dealer see what they are willing to do, if its nothing or your not happy with it then get in touvh with trading standards.

What G says. Jeez I'd be angry. Just cos its second hand doesn't mean you don't have the same rights as you would a new bike. Its false advertisement.

+1

if you went to buy a LUX and they gave you and SE with no cash sweetner then sod em, either you want your upgrades to a LUX heated seats/cd changer etc or you want your money back.
