Clutch cable reroute

For the last coulple of hours i have been trying to fit the comfort kit to my k6 pointy, the top yoke and bars are on but when i tried to reroute the clutch cable it eneded up fouling the spankingly gorgeous top yoke...and thats not good

I know (or think) at least two people on here have fitted the comfort kit so which way did you route it?

So far i have tried a) through the headstock with the cable both infront and behind the yoke b) out to the side of the frame, up between the top fairing and headstock c) as in b but going through the radiator bracket

Tomorrow im going to try up the side of the frame and airbox and out from between the frame and tank but im not sure this is going to work either. Due to the metal curve at the lever end which ever way i try it it always fouls the yoke

Ive had to stop because im cold and hungry

Any advice would be grateful, pictures would be fab

By 'comfort kit' do you mean you're fitting a set of handlebars to a machine that previously had clip ons?, If so, then your original cable probably won't be long enough, and you'll need one from a naked bike.

wrong.......standard s cable fits fine with naked top yoke and renthals...i rerouted mine to go behing the top yoke...and used a bit of tape round the cable that rests against the yoke...works fine and hasnt rubbed the yoke in 6000 miles..i also reused standard throttle cables too just rerouted them...

Thank you for your input. I am forced to wonder about the accuracy of your response in all circumstances, for instance the OP has not as yet confirmed that he wishes to fit exactly-the-very-same handlebars that you have, he may wish to - but we don't know one way or another yet, and you will, I'm so sure, agree that there is just the teensiest possibility that your experience just possibly may not be valid with every combination of handlebar/cable/motorcycle.

I personally performed a similar operation upon an SV not so very long ago - all three cables were insufficiently lengthy, whatever routing one wished to arrange, and it was required to replace all with new, longer, ones.

Id also advice you get the naked cable and make it easier for yourself, the cables are cheapest directly from suzuki about £13 including vat.

what an absolute faff! unless its just me being carp. i routed the clutch cable out of the frame by the coolant bottle, along the frame, through between forks and headstock then back over the top yoke to the lever. a bit of rubber tubing over the metal atthe lever end so as not to mark the yoke, seems ok just have to adjust the clutch at the other end now. fitted handguards aswell

only gripe i have with it is that the brake lines they supplied are a tad too long so i reused the hel line that i had on the right side and the new line on the left but its still too long

nice feel to the position. im sat more upright and hands are wider apart so hopefully my back wont ache anymore

now ive got to figure out why there is no heat going to my oxford grips, if its not one thing its another
