Well Helga is back on the road now, as I got the Rotor replaced and I am getting normal running voltages from the bike again.
So if your bikes had a bit of whack and you've swapped the reg/reg cus of bad charging problems then it could also be your Rotor is not as magnetised as it once was and not giving your bike the voltage it deserves or needs. Also maybe someone could tell me why do you need a 'Rotor removal' tool? |

The tool, i suppose, applies an equal and even pulling force to the rotor, which I imagine to be attached on pretty tightly. My dad had to use one for me once to get a peddle arm off a peddle crank on my mountain bike

Strange, cus I just undid the 6 allen key bolt inside the rotor and it came off.

Maybe for the SV its not a hard job, perhaps for other engines it requires the tool?

I was just confused, as the Haynes manual made a big fuss about using this tool and when I took it off I couldn't see the need for it.
I just wanted to be sure I hadn't missed something, though my SV runs and got me to Nodnol so it can't be that bad. |

hmm, interesting. Maybe you just own one of those bikes that have things go wrong but dosn't give you all the fuss of having to spend hours just to get the broken bit off

Yes maybe that is true, glad I didn't by the expensive tool they recommend then.
In conclusion... its a easy job to so and swap, so much so that I think even I could drop my gear box out and might take some time to do the woodruff key mod. |
