Default Car accidents and insurance?

Just curious as my mate hit some one today on the way out of college it was his fault. The car he hit was shunted into the car in front of the one he hit, I was sure that the way insurance would work was if the woman at the front claimed she would have to claim off the car in the middle then they would claim that back off my mates insurance. The woman at the front was saying she was claiming for whiplash and my mate is determined that he wont loose his no claims or have a claim against him because the lass that he directly hit said that she wouldnt claim because her car wasnt damaged etc. Any one had any experience with that type of thing?

My car was the middle car in a similar scenario many years ago. We both claimed off the muppet who caused the accident.

unfortunately your mate is responsible and any claims will be on his insurance.

Whiplash when the car in the middle wasn't damaged? Rofl.

As I understand it;
What you will have is an argument to say whether there is a claim there or not, she will say there is, your mates insurance co will try and prove that there isn't.

If there is a claim there, then it will go on your mates insurance as an at fault accident. Tell him to watch where he's f*ckin going next time!

Yeh, it'll be your mates insurance that will have to pay up for this!

Was the middle car made of granite or something?

How can he damage the front car but not the middle one?

Anyway... As above, he's liable for the damage caused to both cars, whether they both claim from him or decide to daisy chain it his insurance will be paying for it and he'll be losing his NCB

Tell him to MTFU and not drive into people

Unleeesssss...

Middle car genuinely isn't damaged and front car bint is after a bit of

Now the rules could have changed & probably have but a friend of mine was the middle car in a situation like this a number of years ago.
The insurance company of the person that hit him argued that he had not stopped in the correct fasion & applied the handbrake or his car would not have shot forward into the one in front, they won the case & he lost his NCB.

Excellent idea!!!

My driving intructor always said to apply the handbrake when you stop and therefore wouldnt shunt someone infront should someone hit you from behind.

Of course the person he hit at first may change their mind and claim for some "damage" discovered after the event so he'd lose his NCB then.

I am digusted by the whiplash claim though. If your geniunely hurt then fair enough (as i was) but the "aha it wasnt my fault cash in time" sickens me.
