I've had the VRaptor for nearly a year now, a fixed leaky radiator early on, and around 800 miles ridden since.
The last couple of times its been out, she pees from the breather hose a little bit. This only occurs a few minutes after shes been turned off. Can anyone shed any light as to why shes doing it? Last week Peg brought her home and the 'repair' had unfixed itself, so I radwelded it this afternoon, and whilst running noted, she doesn't leak from the breather. I took her for a spin this evening.....so far, the leaky spot has held ![]() But she still flippin piddled on the garden, when I got back ![]() She now has a new name....Kitty, because she rips my clothes with her sharp claws, and pees everywhere, like a Tom cat ![]()

I thought YC had told you it was just from overfilling with coolant?

I'm not sure it is TBH, because the last time it was filled with coolant, was when Rob had to top it up, as the stealers hadn't put enough in when they fixed the radiator last year
. Tiz a bit strange because it never did it in Whitby, or the Lancaster day....just the last few times its been out.

are the jubilee clips tight enough, as this would explain it,metal expands when warm = full seal , metal contracts when cold= slight gap

but didn't you have to empty the rad to apply the Radweld? and then refill with coolant...? feel free to educate me in the ways of Radweld, i assumed you had to empty to pour it in...?

Nope, you put radweld into a cold radiator, its a liquid, run it til it gets up to temperature so the fan kicks in, so you know the thermostats working and the coolant (and radweld) is going round the system right.....then you turn it off, and leave it to go cold again. No need to flush it.
The radweld then finds its way to the hole thats leaking, and as its exiting the hole, and comes into contact with the colder temperature on the outside, it sets........or something to that effect.

Well yeah, tiz a bit odd, how its only the last few times shes been out. Just hope the radweld holds, as I think I did my maths proper to put in the right amount!
Saying that, its a quirky little problem.....bless, she widdles when shes got excited! ![]() As long as its not anything to do with another underlying problem, I can kinda live with it, its just a pain in the ass to be able to see if the coolant levels are ok. It was a royal pain to get the indicator off just to get to the radiator cap! You need to take the seat off and unbolt the side panel to see the expansion bottle. Good old TKMaxx sold me some security torx bits for a shocking £3.99, which will come in rather handy for when I take the horns off just to lift the tank when the air filter needs changing too ![]()

sounds like the vacuum vent valve is sticking, check the return valve in the rad cap.
Cheers Mark.

That may be a cause. My SV's coolant system had an issue with leaks from the breather hose. The jubilee clips were loose and causing the leaks
