Default How much would I realistically get for my SV in a quick sale?

I've been thinking about getting a bigger bike like the VFR800, ST or even F800ST but I'm not sure how much is my bike worth at the moment. I know some of you have been in the trade for some time and I am hopping you may be able to estimate better.

That's the bike, a 59reg SV650S fully faired with 8k miles on the clock and a few extras:

- Matt's Comfort kit
- MRA Vario Touring screen
- Pipewerx Black Exhaust
- Givi V46 top box
- Heated grips
- Datatool S4 alarm / immobilizer
- Now with a brand new set of Avon Storms 2 Ultra

I've seen classifieds for stock bikes with similar mileage asking £3,750 but I would really appreciate some input.

Thanks!

£2800 - £3000 tops IMO

Take off all the top box, comfort kit etc and return it to standard. You'll still get the £2800 - £3000 for the bike but you'll be able to make a few hundred off the mods

EDIT: Leave on the grips, alarm and tyres - not worth the hassle and may bump it closer to the £3000 mark.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was kind of hopping to be around 3k Is there a particular mileage the SV starts loosing value more quickly, like over 10k - 12k?

Why would you want a bigger bike?

Personally anything over 6thou I'd then have to start taking year of reg into consideration.

eg, Looking at a bike and I find it has 9k on it, then I see the reg is 2003. Thats only 1k a year so I'd be pretty happy to belive it HAS only been ridding in the dry, its had check ups at low milage intervals etc.

Then I'm looking at another bike with 9k on it, but its only 2years old (like yours) then I'd be questioning the service intervals in relation to the milage. Yours wont have even had its first MOT yet will it, so to assume the worst it could be a dog, where the owner has only ridden it and ignored the basic service stuff.

Im not saying yours is a dog btw lol Im just describing my thought process on mileage. FTR I'd still go see your bike first assuming the prices were the same but if the 03 bike was 1k less (still a high priced k3 at 2k) then I'd be more inclined to visit the K3.

To try something else I guess. I love the SV to pieces but I have a feeling there are other things to enjoy out there.

How much less would be the trade-in value?

I'd be interested in the tyres and could swap you a set of still-legal part worns and some cash.
