Realise I may get a silly answer but here goes .......
Bought a standard (?) k1 SV650 and have just ordered a Fuel exhaust for it, I realise i may need to cut the exhaust but im not sure if it has been cut already by the previous owner. There is an exhaust clamp if i remember just forward of the rear brake pedal which appears to join the silencer to the downpipe. Reason i am asking is because that clamp is rotten as hell and i dont know whether i will need a new one for that bit of the exhaust then cut closer to the current silencer As ive not recieved the exhaust yet im not sure where it joins but want to be prepared so that i can get it whacked on as soon as it arrives (im impatient) Thanks in advance |

the clamp you describe sound like the one that comes from the header pipes and is always really rotten
So I think you'll need to cut the pipe. Pics would help us

Cheers
not sure how to post pics and tbf i only have my phone to take them on so quality be a bit rubbish, Guess i will need to sort another clamp out which is fine, just thought it would make more sense if the link pipe connected straight to that point that is all. If i can suss out the pics i will post one |

If its got another end can on it, the pipe is cut somewhere near the pillion footrest hanger & brake pedal, but generally not in front of the brake pedal, unless its a really long link pipe

Do fuel not supply a clamp with the pipe?
The Beowulf I just ordered came complete with link pipe and all the clamps needed. |

Any tips on renewing the header clamp ? Is it am exhaust off job or can it be done in situe ? Was just going to use a small exhaust clamp off a car ( u bolt and clamp with 2 nuts ) |

Think I did mine in situ.
Buy a proper stainless steel Mikalor one for it, won't cost much & won't rust 43mm if I remember correctly I'll measure the pipe tomorrow
