Talking Does anyone know the roads around Kielder?

ROUTE

If you know the roads around Kielder - Is this a good route for a run?

Only bit I know is the bit from Bellingham up to Hawick (I know the route doesn't go that far up) and its a good stretch of tarmac, i was pleasantly surprised.

I'd also be tempted to go all the way down to Penrith so you can go up to Alston that way... Cause that is a blinder of a road...

Did most of that apart from the Dumfries bit. I turned left onto the A7, then back onto the A69, then picked up the military road, as your route does. There was a few miles of sheep dodging from the top of Kielder but I thought it was a fantastic run.

Done the Newcastleton to Keilder to Bellingham route a few times, it's alright - actually it's pretty good but I've never really gelled with that side of the world tbh.

It's worth a run out - the wee cafe in Newcastleton's pretty good for a cuppa/cake stop too. Only thing to bear in mind is petrol can be scarce out there, so fill up when you can!

* EDIT - Just had a bit of a flashback - I seem to remember this bit being rather good the last time I was there:

if its just for a wee bimble then its a cracking route but i would be tempted to do it in reverse to how you have it.

kielder is one of my favourite roads.

!Everytime I plan on going to Kielder is hammer's it doon! So hoping it is nice.

Probably run North to South, then if time, run down to Hartside cafe? Or follow jamesmio's suggestion and run north up to Hawick?

ALt Route

Thanks for the feedback guys.
