Default I'm Officially Pants at Cornering

Went for a run up & down Via Gelia road at the weekend and seemed to fudge-up every single corner like a first-time rider.

Dunno what was wrong, was taking 50-pence lines round right handers and hugging the kerb on left handers. It was so bad I ended up pulling in to let a fast R1 rider past at one point...

I'm no weekend Rossi but I do enjoy keeping up a good pace through corners, so is this psychological, and if so what's the fix?? Anyone else had a bad day's riding like this?

Been riding 4 years by the way...

Everybody has an off day, don't rubbish yourself too hard unless it becomes a habit.

^ this. You probably weren't in the zone and thinking like a bike. My guess is that you weren't fully concentrating on being a bike and enjoying it. See what the next ride is like!

How often do you ride/check the bike? Also, my bike handles very differently (better) on low fuel. At the end of rides it feels amazing. At the beginning its always a bit dodgy.

It can also be good to get everything warmed up tyres, suspension, brakes etc, the Ace corners like a bus when cold but after 30 miles or so she handles like a dream, also much more nimble on low fuel.

Yes mate, skitters about a touch when giving beans first off, but fine after a few miles, being a skinflint buying cheap tyres may not be helping, but it may not be the tyres could be anything!

I'm happy that the bike was all sound & had been checked before the ride, although curiously the headlights weren't working when I got back (an unconnected issue). I'd had a new front tye (dunlop qualifier) and it was my first 'proper' ride after scrubbing it in - perhaps this could have had an effect?
