I just wish they were so eager to catch burglars or bike thieves. |

If you're speeding on roads where cameras are known to operate, you deserve the points + some more for being stupid..
Over 'ere, the locations are approved so there's a handy list online to avoid them ![]() |

The plod have more cost effective ways of "reducing" recorded crime. Can't find the recent reports regarding this, but this is a taster
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...nk-report.html If I remember right Warwickshire "filter" out about a third of reports. Toys like that camera enable them to up the stats of convictions, so it looks good to the politicians. Having a traffic car parked on a ramp in clear view might actually prevent folk from committing the offences in the first place, but that doesn't show up on the stats so of no interest to them. Their duty is to "uphold" the law, whether they "enforce" it is up to the management.

It can also spot people using their phones at the wheel at long range, which I'm more than happy with, something the current cameras can't

This is a road local to me. Last few times I've been on it I've sat behind tractors, caravans and OAP drivers at well below the speed limit for miles on end.

+1
People too fixated on destination to enjoy the journey any more, speed alone may not kill, but too much of it makes the result of any collision infinitely worse.
