After a great time at Lydden and Zolder I'm hungry for my next track day, so looking to book on to the one at Croix en Ternois for the 19th Aug.
"Where?" I hear you cry, here's the website, approx an hour from Calais: http://www.circuitdecroix.com/defaul.../page-138.html http://www.circuitdecroix.com/defaul...l/page-48.html http://www.circuitdecroix.com/defaul.../page-128.html It is only 90 euro for the day, or 60 quid which seems good value. Overnight euro tunnels can be had cheaply as long as you go one day and come back the next, and if need be sure we can book up some cheap B&B in the area. Or go for a ferry crossing. I'm just in the process of checking their availability & booking, it would be great if some of you lot fancied it too. Let me know, as before you know it summer is going to be over. |

Booked on yesterday in badly spoken french (at least i think I did), and sent off the form & money. There are still places avilable, and it's meant to be a great track for smaller bikes, and a left hander which makes a change.

Tim, good to meet you at Lydden. That looks very tempting indeed! I'll have to see what I can juggle!

Had a great time on Saturday, got the left knee down finally to go along with the right
![]() I was in the "debutants" group, but decided this was a bit of a misnomer, I think track day specific 999R Dukes and GSXRs were pushing the meaning of debutant a little. Still the standard SV held its own on the twisty section of the track, taking an R6, GSXR and Firestorm, which would then all pass me again on the long (compared to Lydden!) straight. A great day, although it started to rain in the penultimate session so I decided to peel off, as I didn't want to push my luck. Although watching the supermoto guys in the wet was fun. A good little track and pretty suited to the SV, although it did feel narrow in places. The frogs were friendly as well, chatted to a few guys with track day SVs, and friendly RS250 owner. Cheap as well. Coming back to the UK in October, so likely to be my last continental track day for a while, but a mega euro tour with the ring and numerous trackdays may be on the cards for next year. |
