Default Time for storage, drain carbs?

As the title says. Is it necessary to drain the carbs on my 2000 sv? Iv also heard of 'fogging' spray, is that something that should be done? Ill probably be storing the bike for 5 - 6 months.

Thanks for the help.

I added some Castrol fuel protector to the gas before the "stand still" it should keep the carburetors clean for the next 5 months or so.

And i did not drain anything...

The easiest way to drain the bowls is probably to disconnect the vacuum line from the fuel tap, and then just run it till it stops...

Where would I find said vacuum line? Iv had a look in the books and cant seem to find where it is pointed out. Iv removed all the plastics for another project thats underway so I hope it wont be hard to find.

Thanks again for the help

Back left of the tank, there's 2 bits that stick out the bottom- the one with teh big bolt is the fuel level sensor, the other one with teh hoses is the fuel tap. The bigger of the 2 hoses is the fuel, you'll see it leads over to the fuel pump on the RHS of the bike. The other is the vacuum line. Plug it up with whatever comes to hand (or squeeze it shut with pliars or something) once it's been removed. And don't forget to reconnect it

You could do it the right way, and use the float bowl drains, but they're a pain to access, this bodge works
