OK then, no, it wont work. It wont be loud enough!!
A word of caution (or is that advice)... leave the stock meeper in. If it doesn't sound quite right, use a different length of wire. It'll have an 'interesting' effect. If you get 2 magnums (£25 on ebay at the moment), make sure you have EXACTLY the same length from the relay to the horns (both positive & negative wires). |

Yes you do.
Ok technically you dont, but why risk frying your bike? Relay = cheap, new horn switch = not cheap. Think for a bit before posting. Electrically the pointys and curvys are the same (ok there are a couple of small differences but nothing that would affect this)

At best, the volume of the horns will be limited by running under less power. At worst, you'll melt parts of your loom, if your fuses don't pop first. IMO, you need to use a relay (but then, my horns draw 30A... it takes 75A to crank the engine!! EDIT: That 75A cranking power takes around 10mins of engine running to recharge... in theory, I could flatten my battery by holding the horn whilst the engine is running!!). The mangum & stock horn will produce "beats," quite an interesting phenomenon that. Last edited by Baph; 12-06-07 at 01:27 PM. |

Oh yes they have!! I'll show you how to place the relay at the weekend if you want. For the sake of a few pence mate, it ain't worth the risk of frying the switchgear.
