I haven't got a picture of me with my 1st bike as I've always been a Billy No Mates, but here's my 1st bike. This was bought brand new in 1980 (on the drip

) & I was on the road on my 17th Birthday, which was March of that year. I wanted an X7, but couldn't afford the extra insurance, so ended up with it's cheaper brother the Suzuki X5 200.

I did get an X7 years down the line. Bought 2, in boxes for £50 & built this little puppy out of the 2. It was one of the most exciting bikes I've ever ridden.

I don't have photos of my first day on a bike, it was my mate's Mobylette moped in the car-park 'over the bridge', when I was about 15. I didn't actually pass my test and buy one until I was in my 30s. Here is a photo of me at the top of the Col d'Izoard on my fist bike.

I bought my first road bike from the OPs Dad back in 2005

Still have lots of fond memories of it - trackdays, IOM TT, drag racing at Santa Pod etc...
