Where to source replacement carb parts includijn screws?
Hi guys,
I had a search but couldn't find anything specific on carb bolts. I managed to remove, but pretty much destroy, the choke cable bracket screws when removing my K2 carburettors. I also noticed that the carb cover screws look in a bad way and Haynes say I need to replace the O rings on the choke cables. Aside from calling Suzuki who are miles away and presumably prohibitively expensive, any ideas where I could get these bits from - wemoto.com don't seem to do them? Best wishes, Dave

just use bottonhead alan bolts as replacements.
http://www.allensperformance.co.uk/ for parts, best to phone. the reason the screws chewed is you need to use a proper good quality JIS screwdriver. philips screwdrivers 'cam out' resulting in chewed screws. |

you really want to buy yourself the PH2 screwdriver in this link http://www.onlyqualitytools.com/cata...ewdrivers.html yes they are pricey but trust me when you need it you will thank me you have it.

Thanks very much! Is that a JIS screwdriver - it says Phillips? I had a look a couple of weeks ago for JIS screwdrivers, but the only place seemed to be online. Sadly the one in my toolkit on the bike doesn't have a handle.

Re: Where to source replacement carb parts includijn screws?
yes it says philips but trust me its a JIS. it's a weird screwdriver as it fits almost every screw i have tried it on. it does not cam out of philips.
another good source of cheep JIS are the cheep ones you find in B&Q with the yellow or orange handles, not quite as good as jis but not as bad as philips. bit dont last long on them though so buy a few. what i like about the one i posted is it has an 'out' impact as well so a decent tap with a hammer before trying to undo works a treat. |
