Default WARNING about Fabia Scout SM14VTT

Probably not your sort of car, but: from another forum.
" I just wanted to flag up a warning if anyone on here goes to buy a Black 14 plate Fabia II Scout 1.6 Tdi 105 reg
I was due to collect this vehicle at the end of August, but declined to take delivery after it turned out that Arnold Clark Seafield had put £30 of unleaded in it and driven it 4 miles, then tried to tell me they hadn't!
Look out!

I have a new Fabia Scout from Parks of Hamilton. All good so far! "

and . .

" Its on autotrader at £13700.

http://www.autotrade...r_old?logcode=p

No mention of its petrol trip."

This is it. I wonder how the buyer knew? Lucky escape on any event.

Mind you, that Arnold is a wee bit of a scamp. Looks like he has successfully shut down arnoldclarksucks.com
but the message lives on here - Arnold Clark Sucks.

In all my years of car driving experiences I have almost always had bad experiences at chain dealerships like this.

The salesman told me about the refuel as I was due to pick it up the same evening, but he said
a) the valeter did it
b. ) he realised his mistake and the car was not started and transported back on a recovery truck.

I visited the petrol station and asked to see the cctv footage of that day.
Clear as a bell the car came in, was mis fuelled, and then driven away, by THE SALESMAN,!!

Back in the show room he still denied a problem and stuck to his original story.
Only when I questioned him in front of his boss and an independent witness ( who was there to buy a car) did the salesman admit totally lying. I got a full refund of deposit and walked away.
Skoda uk were told, they investigated and the sales boss confirmed my tale.

Just wanted to warn others as if WE had done that any warranty would be kissed goodbye!
Petrol wil dissolve fuel pump lubrication and not to mention valve guides and injectors.

Arnold Clark................hmmmmmmm.

I made the salesman admit every individual point of untruth. Very satisfying to see him squirm.

my experience of Arnold Clark was not good.

The daughter wanted a new car and went there and was persuaded by the salesman towards a certain fiesta. Fortunately she would not commit until dad saw it.

Saturday came and off I went, saw it for all of two minutes before the worlds pushiest salesman ran at us. Well sir what do you think.

Is all the damage from a single accident or has there been two?

I then point out the poorly aligned n/s wing, the wheel arch plastic is still broken and hanging, the o/s rear quarter is a different colour and you can see a ripple as in the shape does not smoothly flow. There is a bloody great lump missing out of the n/s front alloy, so did that too happen when the wing had to be replaced? What suspension/ steering damage was there?

You should have seen his face, caught trying to sell a young girl a lemon. The price discounts suddenly appeared and although it dropped 2 grand, we walked away and bought from the local ford dealer.
