Re: digital gear change
Why? You keep going until you run out of gears

Re: digital gear indicator
ive got an acumen one on my tls which is apparently one of the best ones you can get (it came with the bike) and it is absolutely rubbish. takes forever to work out what gear your in when you shift, up to 1 second by which time i may have shifted up again. genuinly a waste of time. Nice bling factor but in practise they simply dont work fast enough unless your doing high speeds at high revs, low revs and they take ages, low speeds and they take even longer, combine the 2 and it will think your in 2nd even when your doing 2mph in a carpark in first. also they get really confused by slipping the clutch cause they work on matching the revs to the speed to guage your gear. also means if you changethe gearing a significantly then they need to be retrained.
all in all a kinda cool idea but in reality they just suck. Just learn what your bike should sound like when you go into a corner and base gear selection based on sound rather than on what gear you think you should be in. It the same as reading your tach, after a while you just learn when to shift and you dont have to keep staring at it in fear of going into the redline. |
