Shell needs a drill and a screw
OK guys I am crap with stuff like this and am not going to attempt myself as I will make a hash of it.
Anyone willing to help a damsal in distress. Got a fenda extender but it's not fitted. It was fitted (minus the screws) and it feel off. So sticky pads alone are not strong enough. Does anyone fancy drilling a hole in my plastics for me and giving them a good screw If my plugs got all wet I would need more help then as Suky has misfired once I remember the hassle my ex had in sorting her out. Or has anyone got any suggestions of none drilling methods that I could do whereby the blasted thing will stay attached to my bike?

Re: Shell needs a drill and a screw
I used something that was recommended on here but I can't for the life of me remember what. It was waterproof and salt proof, some sort of marine adhesive?
Mines been stuck fine since, but when it went for it's service they did give me back a clothees peg I'd used to hold it on while drying... |

Re: Shell needs a drill and a screw
Shell, if you want a ride up here I'll sort it for you (maybe throw in a free cuppa too).
Won't be able to get down to you to do it though. EDIT: So Shell, did you manage to find some decent adhesive? (For everyone else, I text Shell a couple of times earlier to advise what to get etc - so it's not that strange of a question ) Last edited by Baph; 08-11-08 at 08:11 PM. |

Re: Shell needs a drill and a screw
shell did you do it?
I can pop over and do it.. I did my curvy one no problems.. and touched it up afterwards with the right paint and it was ace. I removed the front mudguard to do it though- , was easy job really.. apart from the wire that is held on by the thing attached to the mudguard but simple enough.

Re: Shell needs a drill and a screw
Thanks guys - Baph thank you for your reply and text, I didn't get araldite as you and Woz suggested, got carried away with riding Zuky LOL instead of fitting of stuff..... bad Shell.
Since Quiff is so close I will take Quiff up on his offer, if that doesn't offend you Baph ! What is best screwing or gluing ???? Dont want to unneccessarily drill holes in my plastics if there is no need. (Shell and glue is funny, last time I used glue I glued 3 fingers together and one to my laptop key )

Only difference is that if you use glue you don't need to drill holes. Of course, if you're really paranoid about it coming off again, you could use both!! |

Sticky pads with two tiny screws that you can hardly notice, but keep it in place that little bit better

shell try gluin it first.. !
plus me woke up this mornin with man flu ! now you wouldnt want that- I know of folk who have glued it and its stayed on forever.. you could then pilot hole it and use a self tapper.. watch its not too long or ti may reach the tyre-...... when I am well again I will catch up onthe situation. off to bed now.
