Default Speedo Drive Query

Evening OMO. I am in the process of checking out a speedo fault. Bike currently up on stand. I've taken the speedo cable off, no visible issues. Connection clean as a whistle. My query is regarding the rotor. All four lugs are present and correct. No cracks. However I can spin the lugs freely on the magnet. It can even come apart with a wiggle. I take it it's not designed to do this. And should be a tight fit this might explain my speedo reading either 6-8 mph or nothing? Can any of you wiser gents confirm how it should be. SK6. Thanks.

Default Re: Speedo Drive Query

As I'm new to the SV650 family of Motorcycles I'm slowly getting through the manual.

This video may help,

and if the fault is not at the drive I'd have to think it's at the Clock end.

I had a play with this - decided sod it as I didn't have any spare parts, I'd reach for the Gorilla glue.
So far all now working as it should. For those that have never played with their speedo rotor.
No the plastic lugs should not move on the round magnet.

As I need to change the front tyre in the next month of so I'll give the glue a once over. Unless it fails again in the next day or two! Then I'll get a new rotor.
