Default The Michelin Man look...

... an inflatable vest to keep you warm. I'm unsure whether your warmth comes from the vest or from embarrassment.

That's just daft.

Over winter last year I bought a thermal quilted underjacket (similar to the Spidi ones) from a shonky-looking eBay vendor for £15, I didn't expect much but it's been an absolute game-changer in terms of warmth.

My Frank Thomas textile jacket has a zip-in thermal liner, but when the ambient temp is below about 7 or 8C it was never warm enough no matter how many base layers etc I had underneath.

But the quilted underjacket is thin and flexible enough to be worn inside the textile jacket & thermal liner, and now it's so toasty it's amazing.

I can also thoroughly recommend Richa Carbon gloves, they're really warm.

Do you have a link for the Under-jacket please

I looked when I was posting earlier, the vendor's no longer listed on eBay

The one I got is very similar to these Spidi ones, but didn't have the high neck. The Spidi ones aren't too expensive though, and in my view it's well worth it:

Thanks for that but a bit pricey for me. I might go with one of the USB heated ones

I find that in really cold weather it's the hands that get too cold ,heated grips are good but the outside of the hands can still get cold.

I've never found heated grips to be useful. I fitted handguards to my SV and that helped but didn't solve my cold hand problem. At one stage I was wearing three pairs of gloves until I bought the earlier generation of these gloves:

https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocia...d-glove-review

In conjunction with the handguards I can run the gloves on their lowest setting. I tend to put them on charge after a couple of days which would be over 3 hours of riding but they aren't indicating a charge is required at that point. I think they are supposed to last about 4 or 5 hours on low setting.

This company used to make heated glove liners - they have expanded their range now, they still make the liners but now make the whole glove too. Since they're a UK (Scottish) company I would have bought from them had they made the whole glove at the time.

A big part of keeping hands and feet warm is making sure that your core, arms and legs are well insulated. Your body will reduce circulation away from a cold core or along cold arms and legs, having the knock on effect of cold hands and feet. I've found good long sleeve merino base layers help. If you layer up two merino long sleeve tops then you can stay very warm and improve circulation along your arms to your hands.

Maybe it would double as crash protection too. Especially as it'd bulk your jacket up so much you'd struggle to move in it.

I bought these last winter as I didn't fancy hacking the GSXR throttle about to get heated grips on.

They are really quite pricey, and looking back, I'm a bit surprised someone as tight as me, did buy them.
But they are bloody good.

(Edited for you Adam)
I'm considering asking for this from the Christmas pixies. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/mot...nt_prod/364845
