Default Alpinestar SMX Plus Boots

Just got hold of a pair of these.

having owned a couple of pairs a standard smx boots and liked them, I was looking for another pair and came across a few pairs of the SMX Plus's and liked the safety features.
Not for the faint hearted, so to speak. buthen I'm not known for my conservative tastes.

Had a couple of trips in the rain, and they have held up well , with no leaks.

I thought they would take sometime to "break in" as they looked a bit "plasticy", but because of the internal comfort boot, they are really good.

Flexable where you need it (at the toe, for gear changes) and stiff where you need the protection.

I'll report back on their durability over the next couple of thousand miles, we'll see.

They feel as protective as my motocross boots, I use in the winter, but as flexable as my summer race boots.

Now I don't normally spend anything like the £200 retail these are sold for,
However as I got these new within my budget, they represent some of the best boots I've ever owned.

Cheers Mark.

i have these in black, goretex...not let any water in, they are by far my most used footwear...i ride all weathers, only got slightly cold in the very cold weather, to slider does wear down quickly its only been down once or twice but has a healthy flat spot...other than that a great boot. been in a crash as well, although they didnt really have any work to do as i just went in the air and landed....they break in well and are comfy...im looking to resole them soonish...dont wanna be spending another £180 really...

I bought some of these off the web and after some googling managed to get them for £159 + £5 p+p.
Very impressed thus far.

indeed, as Greg says, I was wearing the FT Aquas, the toe slidders on the SMX-Plus boots would have been in just the right position to at least minimise the damage to a greater extent.

Cheers Mark.
