They have been specialising in SVs for years, have never heard a bad word about them.

I THINK......you'll have to check with Stretchie, that it was JHS that messed up his blackbird. Did not tighten the bolts on the front brake cailper after working, Stretch took the bike to Reading and back and as he came off the M4 near home, wobble wobble, pulled over and the main bolt holding the caliper on was not even there. If it had gone wrong just 10 minutes earlier I don't even want to think what could have happened, but at 8-mph???

This is not a bad rant at JHS.........Stretchie mentioned it on the forums (this and the blackbird forum) that night, one of the guys that worked there saw it, told his boss the next morning and when Stretchie called politely to tell them, they assured him it would be taken care of, got a van round ot our house, picked up the bike, sorted it properly at their expense (obviously) and brought it back to the house on the van later that day.

So........do we blame JHS? Not really.....everyone makes mistakes and although this one could have ended up being an unforgiveable one, I don't think they'll get complacent again any time soon.

WHat stood out to us was not the mistake, but the total remorse and willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty to get it sorted and apologise.

I'd use them again.....might check the bolts...lol. But, I would use them again.

We were not happy with the work and service at our last service. They seem to be going away from the Sv and generalising more. The mechanic who worked on our bike had a thou and when I pointed out that the locknut was missing off of his swingarm pivot, he commented that "he'd lost it a while ago and must replace it sometime". Not a huge thing in the scheme of things, but hardly confidence inspiring.

They used to have just the one mechanic, Gary, and James who did the developing side of things as far as I saw. Sadly progress has seen the enthusiasm in Sv's dwindle IMO. Gary is no longer there and James is into Triumph Triples I think.
