Interesting Ride Home
Well to say it was interesting is an understatement, I got onto the A2 and it began to rain then as I rounded the bend at Kidbrooke the skies opened and a deluge of hail stones the size of 10p pieces fell out of the sky. I had to drive about 3/4 of a mile in it befoe I could take refuge under a bridge. It bloody hurt too, my knuckles and legs are a bit sore now - it also felt like I had my head in a bucket and had made a wrong turn onto a driving range. Did anyone else experience this on the way home? |

Re: Interesting Ride Home
Blue skies on my way home.
About the worst thing that happened to me was opening the throttle hard coming out of a bend to see a puddle. No problem thinks me, and carries on giving it some. Turns out that below the shallow water lies a patch of mud. Massive fishtail on the exit to the bend, release the throttle, it gripped again & off I went again. HTH. |

Re: Interesting Ride Home
Brixton got hit with hail so thick that people made hail men on the footpath after it was done. i don't know what was wrong with the drains, probably full of rubbish, but most of Brixton road was covered in 6 to 12 inchs of water that wasn't going anywhere. Now that was a fun ride home too.
glad to hear it wasn't just me! |

Re: Interesting Ride Home
Rode to footy training (Aussie rules ) and just as I got on the bike and all geared up, it started raining, then it started POURING! Got to training which wasnt on and checked my phone. Message from wife said "Are you ok? Did you get the hail?". I asked her when I got home, apparently I missed it by about 20 seconds! *phew*
Rode home looking at the rain in the distance thinking I was going to get soaked again, but just got home in time *phew again* Gotta love summer! |

Re: Interesting Ride Home
a few weeks ago, after a typical english tropical rainstorm, i too hit that puddle after a bend, only to realise that it wasnt a puddle at all.
it saved me washing my underwear and trousers, |
