My exhaust studs are rotten an the nuts have almost completely rotted away I want to remove them but know I’ll be a world of pain if I use heat and mole grips and I shear them off any suggestions ???

try welding some new nuts on. name of the game is if they snap they snap and its drill time.
sometimes if you can break the nut off, cut a slit in the rusty nut with a dremel then open up with a screwdriver or chisel. you can then take the header off and get a stud remover on a windy gun. top tip when putting a stud back in.. dont and instead use a bolt and nut. put the nut on the bolt then put the bolt in like a stud then tighten the nut against the collar. |
