Sv650 s. 2007 wont start on the button

My bike wont start on the button
Only if i push start it
Ignition on killswith off sidestand up clutch in
Hit the button nothing lights go dim
But lights bright horn loud indicators fine ect
Does any one have a wireing diagram
Any ideas whats the problem please

Sounds like battery is fubar, enough to light the lights etc, but not enough to crank it over.

Sounds like a cell has gone west

That's my two penneth worth of limited electrical knowledge

Dont think its battery as all electrics work fine

There may be enough power for the lights etc, but Sv needs battery to be in tip top order to crank it over.

Yours is displaying classic symptoms of a bad battery

Il connect a jump pack tom and see
But i thought if battery was no good it would atleast try to turn over. But slowly or just click

I'd suspect an earth problem (main earth is to a bplt at the back of the gearbox on the clutch side) or maybe the relay is duff.

From your description (that the lights go dim when you press the starter button) suspect the starter motor. Could also be battery, battery connection/earth, or starter solenoid.
If you know the battery is good try bridging the starter solenoid or holding a thick wire briefly straight from the positive battery terminal to the starter input connector with the ignition off. If the starter doesn't turn change or rebuild the starter. If it does turn suspect the solenoid or other connection problem.
