My god so gutted about this. I knew that Mick Karn had been ill with cancer for while but this is still a big shock. Have been a huge fan of his for a long time. The man and his Wal bass had a sound of it's own.

Sad loss on both accounts, Gerry Rafferty is still one of the icons of the 70's I regularly listen to, as for Mick Karn, being a fellow greek I followed his music with a passion from his early days with Japan right through to his collaborations with Pete Murphy ala Dalis Car then on through his Solo work.

RIP Gents.

A very, very sad loss to the musical world.

RIP indeed.

Is it bad that I don't know who either of these people are?

If you're under 30, I wouldn't expect you to know who they are.
