Default Christmas ride-out

Anyone fancy braving a cold ride-out to escape the left-overs and Mary Poppins?

I'll be arranging a ride-out on Tuesday 27th December. Route yet to be decided but probably heading for some fresh sea air.

All bikes welcome. BMW GSs, SVs, Yammy Diversion and Yammy Bulldog already signed up.

'Rough schedule': Start 9am (Leeds), 9.45 pick up in Thirsk. Then for some fish & chips and back for a 4pm finish at Squires.

If it's anything like last year, it'll be cold, dark, wet and icy!!

Here's a pic from last year to whet your appetite.

p.s. All the usual about this not being a 'club event' and you'll need your own insurance etc.

We'll be sticking to roads so ride what you want. Last year we had a fair bit of ice on the Roman Road to Whitby but no-one had any scarey incidents.

The Leeds start will out side the Harewood Arches!

Hi JP

At the minute I don't know of anyone coming from over your way, but if some do come I'll put you in touch.

Hi chaps

The ride is starting to shape up. I just need to do a test ride to plan the stops (Will be doing this Friday or Saturday if any fancies it).

We'll be sticking mostly to main roads to avoid any ice etc.

Route will be:
Leeds (Harewood Arches) leaving 9.00am
Thirst (Market Square) leaving 10.00am
Then over to Scarborough for lunch via the Dalby Forest Drive (toll free in December :thumb)
Then over to Squires cross country via Sledmere and Pocklington.
About 180miles from Leeds to Leeds.

Mars bars for everyone!

If there is snow or ice on the road the ride will be cancelled.

pm me with your desired meeting point if you intend to come.

pm me if you want the mapsource file of the route.
