Right chaps and chapesses. If you have a policy and you have a neamed rider on your policy then listen up.
I am a named rider on Vernas bike policy. Its insured TPF&T and insured for SDP inc commuting. Now, according to Motorcycle direct, i am NOT isured for the comuting part of her policy! This i find wierd, as the policy makes a very sweeping statement of Occasional use. Occasionaly, i may have a puncture/bike wont start etc, and i'll have to use her bike to get to work. Apprently, the insurace will be null and void!! So what im saying is, that because you as the policy holder have entiltements, its not always the same for your named rider, so check it out. With all this in mind and the fact that MCD are expensive, verna cancelled with MCD and went with Direct choice, saving herself £12 a month in the process and a policy that covers the named rider for the same as the policy holder. |

I'd of thought that you could complain against this under Unfair Terms? (Of course, this is if they don't make it blindingly obvious).

When isuring a car with 2 dirviers, it has to be insured under the main driver, that being the person who uses it the most and as Falc is ony 19 your insurace will go up

Its to stop parents buying a second car, insuring it and naming their 17 year old little darlings as additional drivers.

thats called fronting and is illegal! I couldnt undertand my clause.. once a week,.. is that to the shop or a 32hour slog to france? if i get out and leave the engine running by law thats still classed as driving but would it be classed as driving it once as i have to get back int he car... maybe i can drive too the shops but not home again? no idea.... ![]() |

That's interesting, I need to double check my cage insurance then. The missus can't ride (well she can't ride a bike, the U rating prohibts further explanation) but we're both named drivers on eachother's car policies. And I'm pretty sure both of us have used the other's cars for the odd commute when ours have gone bang.
Can understand the need to prevent the old scam whereby parents would name their kids as second drivers when in fact they were the primary, if not sole, drivers but surely that could be dealt with at the assessor stage rather than at contract writing stage. |
