Good luck.
you have an obvious talent, but it is a very difficult career path ahead of you. I have a family friend, who gave up his BT career to train as a photographer, did his degree and couldn't make a decent living with commercial photography. Went back and did a masters and now teaches for an American university instead. See this artical about Andrew to put you off Gloucester

Some very nice shots there.
Kudos for taking the plunge. I can speak from experience that it's a very scary thing, and hard to actually 'just do' unless you are pushed or supported in some way. ![]() If my mobility problems hadn't forced me into thinking of alternative I know I wouldn't have had the nerve, likewise friend of mine who runs her own costume company had tremendous support from friends and family to make the shift. Tim's right, it's very, very hard to make big bucks out of anything artistic - just too many variables and luck/timing can play a huge part... ... that said, for 'just making a living', well, to do something you enjoy and get paid for it is one of the greatest things at the end of the day. So much of your life is spent working, it's nice to get something more out of it than just bill payments. ![]() Best of luck to you. |
