Default Pembrokeshire (non-biking)

What's it like Tenby end of Pembrokeshire?

I have been St Davids way before and am going to Skomer in May but instead of staying the rest of the time around St Brides / St Davids was wondering about this end of Pembrokeshire. If it is in Pembrokeshire? Anyone go there and knows it?

Skomer's great, not been there for years though.
I've stayed in Tenby a few time whilst working at Manorbier. It's a nice little town, Spent a few nice afternoons sat on the beach by the life boat station watching the world go by. See link below for more details.

Check the link to the walk at the bottom of the page.

Not ever really had the opportunity to explore outside Tenby but I know the coastal walks are good.

I lived ever so briefly in Croesgoch, (near st Davids) where the rain comes sideways, locals still speak Welsh and no-one has heard of broadband. Great for spotting lighthouses and UFO's, but used to travel to Tenby to find anything resembling night life.

Tenby is great and is definatley in pembs

i've got a place in pembroke and spend as much time down there as possible

a little bit commercial but only in a tiny way

beaches are a cross between what you get in the st davids area ie bugger all on them (which is what some people like) and the gower ie nicer more user friendly with at least a cafe on them (or pub)

some nice little places between there and pembroke

manobier being a decent little place

plenty of places to stay eat drink that time of year but sea will be bloody frezin

Tenby is full of tourists Rich, which may be a good or bad thing depending on what you're after.

Having said that, Manorbier, Freshwater East and all the way round to Angle is really nice. I've done a couple of one week trips out that way.

Thanks for that everyone. May stay out St Davids way again. Depends on weather really. Last time had a week of wall to wall sunshine so holed up in a campsite on the cliff at Porthclais. WOuldnt be the same in rain and a gale

I go to St Davids and St Brides Bay alot (have just booked a cottage in St D's for Christmas week this year, right by the Cathedral - already excited!) but I wouldn't touch Tenby with a barge pole, far too busy and commercialised.
(though I have been told it's better these days, but I won't risk it!)
