Probably old news, but discuss...

Won't cost us a penny, as rubbish burns, and we have a multi fuel stove, ironic that its part of a "climate change bill"

Also I bet council tax won't be reduced if they bring this in, funny that

My parents area was part of the pilot scheme, Ashfireld District council. Althouth they were not charge anything they had little tags RFID Tags hidden on there bins, i removed theirs with a screw driver and heat gun.

Only last week I spotted our neighbour putting stuff in our bin, so until the council provides me with a bin that i can secure to stop people putting stuff in it and therefore me getting charged more then its unnaceptable.

Its a sure fire way to increase fly tipping problems if you ask me.

And for the record our normal waste bin is HALF the size of a normal sized bin to 'encourage recycling', and its not a pokey 2 bedroom flat either its a 4 bedroom house that is suitable for a decent sized family, yet we get tiny bins.

As it is, we are very good at recycling so its not a problem and the waste bin often goes out half empty until the neighbours try and fill it up.

Grrrr this subject annoys me as you can tell.

Below is a picture of the tag removed from my mum and dads bin, check and remove yours today.

I think the best way forward ti sot force recycling on people by means of having seperate bins provided for diff things.

In Germany it works well on a 3 week cycle.

you have to seperate all rubbish out as follows:
food and garden waste , organic material.
Plastics and metal trays foild food packaging etc.
Paper card and wooden products.

Glass jars and bottles get resycled in bottle banks provided by the council at the end of every couple of streets. Or if you saved them up and took the drinks bottles back to the supermarket you got them from you got some money back for them.

It worked well, never overflowed any bin. They have a much better approach to recycling over there compared to this country.

and once every 3 months they had what is called bulk rubbish day where you could throw out anything and the councill use to come arround and collect it up.

i for onw ould like to see this approach taken in the UK.

Yup this has little to do with climate change and is just another stealth tax from the governemnt intent on pillaging the average person to the point of bankruptcy. Although some rubbish does give off toxic fumes when burnt so you would need to be careful. Most of our rubbish are the bloody free papers which we never ask for. 4 in a week, I'm getting fed up of it and they don't take heed of the "No free papers" note. Why the feck should I pay to dispose of the crap I don't want or ask for???

We have a green wheely bin for non recyclable waste, a brown one for compostable waste, a green plastic bag for newspapers, a green sack for bottles/cans.

They collect recyclable one week and non recyclable the following week. In summer we grow a healthy fly/maggot population. Over Christmas they do not collect the brown compost able for a month. If you overflow a bin they will not take the excess.

They regularly fail to turn up and blame it on restricted access caused by cars parking. Yet they refuse to install double yellow because the non resident parkers objections.

Paying for refuse by weight fails to take into account the size of a family. Since my kids have left home and now pay rates in their own right, we generate half of what we used to, Have my rates halved accordingly, like ******** they have.

We recycle alot and most weeks we just about manage 2 bin bags full of stuff that we can't recycle. Thats for 3 adults and one child, food waste and stuff goes in the composter in the garden.
