Default Warning about incompetence

So I thought to myself, I know! While I have some time spare, I'll call ESB in Bolton to arrange the valve clearences to be checked.

Service was busy, so I left my number and Lorna called me back about five minutes later.

I asked about a price, she told me that the valves don't get checked until 24000 miles.

I pointed out that the service manual says 15000 to be met with flat out refusal to listen. I went on to point out that the figure of 24000 was reffereing to kilometers and explained that she may be mis-reading the info, but no. I was wrong, she knew better

Needless to say, I'm not going there again!

What worries me is that someone who is, shall we say, gullible, may believe this and loose and engine over it!

dozy biatch!!! Tis why I have competent mates and bloke that can save me the hassle of people that don't know what they're on about. In fact I'd have given her a slap for being such a stubborn git,

Good job she weren't the mechanic!!!!

24,000km is dead on 15,000 miles.

Certainly a dealer I would never go to if she argued back like that.........

EEK! I'm going to be booking mine in for a 8000 mile service.

Might reconsider but...its the mechanics who do the jobs not her.

Had my radiator done there and was ok, and my 650's 8000mile service done there too and both ok. Jerry seems to be the better mechanic too.

Nah - they might mistake it for a Honda's sevice interval and refuse to do it until 16K miles.
