Default Lets hear it for the B&Q £2 screw bag

I needed some little screws, and in B&Q they cost £1.60 for 25. But they sell loose screws, and you can fill the smallest size of ziplock bag they do for £2. So as well as my 25 little screws (which I got the nicer ones, not the cheapies) I got another 25 the same, about 50 slightly bigger ones, 10 mahoosive ones that are usually £2 for a bag of 4, and then some random chipboard and drywall screws just because there was still room in the bag. I reckon if I'd bought that lot in individual bags it'd have been about £25!

That is all. Little screw bag, I salute you. Now I'm off so split some wood.

Never noticed that before. Must look out for it in future. Do they have machined screws? Or S/S?

Oh man I love these, I know what you mean. Its the B&Q equivalent of the 'eat as much pizza as you can' sessions on a Monday night at Pizza Hut!

You should have seen the seams bulging on the bag of screws I took to the till

Are you really that desperate for a screw?

A couple of years ago I bought a job lot from Screwfix. Every M size bolt, washer, nuts of all types, and trade packs of wood, metal screws of all types. The huge package weighed about 20 kilo, will last me forever, and cost about £40.(However, when I needed a brass screw for the floor the other week, I had to go to B+Q and buy one of those rip off bags..)

Hmm, not that I noticed, but that's not to say they're not there.

I was sorting out my screw, bolt and nail box (well it's now 2 stackable crates and 4 cases, but who's counting ) the night before last. I came across 4 packs of 25 wood screws that were normally ?2.50, down to 32p each in Focus as they were end of line. Bit of an odd size/length combination, but in my view that means one day they'll be just right for some job I'm having difficulty fitting a normal screw to. My all time best screw-buy was a tube with 4 compartments filled with 4 different lengths of wood screw from lidl. 450 screws for about ?4. The quality of them is great too (none have cheesed off/broken) and the ones on things outside don't seem to weather at all. From Lidls no less!
