Just below the belt line on the very left in around the boney bit. It hurts or more badly aches when I try to lift my left leg. Have I done something whilst on the bike? What do all you net doctors think? It got worse during the day.

I've got, or am recovering from a similar/same thing. I did it by twisting sharply whilst holding a shovel of clay in the garden 2 weeks ago. Could not actually get out of bed the first few days, had to crawl out. Stubbornly I just decided I would get better, but after the first week saw, by chance, a sports injury physio. She advised ice packs, 15 mins at a time against the hurty parts, several times a day. I bought Gel ice packs from supermarket, excellent things, get well cold but remain flexible. They did/do give relief and help get the siezed up parts moving again - I can now walk up stairs rather than the comedy dolly steps of last week. Also I have bought one of those funny posture chairs to use when on the PC, which oddly are comfy, just look strange. The water bed has got to go too, been told thats no good for my back either.

What's happened to you then? Torn muscle? Mine's not as bad as yours but it's annoying. It's odd that's it's when I try to lift my leg.

Not sure, physio told me to see doc because it could be sciatic nerve trapped or damaged if it does not get any better, but it is slowly recovering. If I lie down, try to raise my right leg, it just comes up a few inches then hurts, feels odd too, like its ignoring my commands. However, it improves each day so I'll just take it as a warning to look after myself a bit more.

Its that horrible cramped position on the 675 I am afraid.
Dr Soulkiss's advice is to come see me and swap it for the CG125. DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a doctor really :P [edit - forgot to add as it was so early] - Hope the back feels better soon mate

Take some Ibuprofen and paracetamol and try to rest it..... either the sports therapist or an osteopath is a good idea, up here they charge about ?25 a session tho. If it doesn`t ease see your GP

Unfortunately I get back problems on a regular basis, probably due to neglect when younger lifting and carrying things at work which health and safety wont let you do now.
I bought a York, neoprene back support type belt. When my back starts to feel a bit iffy I wear this for a short while and it seems to get rid of the pain before it builds up too much. Ibuprofen is good aswell because it is an anti-inflammotary. |

Soulkiss I had considered that. If it carries on and I can prove it's my baby hurting me I'll have to get Heli Bars. Failing that I'll swap it with your 125.

NHS direct on net and other places say pain killers and it should go in time. Will try that, thanks. ![]() |

The only lower back pain I've had is a trapped sciatic nerve. Very sharp pains my left leg for a bit but it's not always that bad. The physio gave me some stretches to do every morning which really helped. Just googled sciatica and found this:
http://www.johnberardi.com/articles/..._your_butt.htm The intro is kind of useful but the "How to Go 'Bout Fixin' It." about half way down is the useful bit. They're the same streches I did and I was all well with in a week or so. Hope this helps!! |
