You don't need one. How many times do we have to talk about this?

if your trying to remove the machine screww at the bottom of the fork leg - just sharpen a broom handle and insert in the fork undo the screw - done. Or you could try an air imapct wrench.

my mate who's helping me says he'd rather use a proper tool to do the job than a broom handle that has a chance of splintering off any pieces inside!!

Considering the conversations we've had on this subject, and no disrespect to your chum at all, get someone with specific experience of this job to do it for you.
That tool isn't needed and the entire problem would not have arisen had it been attended to correctly in the first place, don't go spending money on tools it in an attempt to understand why it's not working right - get it done right.

Phone me.

Oh dear! I'm one of the gullible peeps who bought the correct tool.. Actually it wasn't all that expensive but still much dearer than a broom handle.

TBH it didn't work that well. The tapered bit kept slipping anyway.

Holding the damper rod inside the fork leg so you can tighten the damper rod fixing bolt at the bottom of the fork. If you don't have anything to hold it with then the damper rod just spins.

Has he tried just putting the springs spacers and caps back on, that should hold them a little tighter in place?
