how loud an exhaust for track days? - SV650.org

hi there. first post on this forum lol!
i have a scorpian race can fitted on my 99 curvy sv, will this be to loud for a track cos they have a 105db limit?
hope some1 could help.

Hi, as long as the can isn't damaged, blown all its packing out or cut down (stubby) then it'll be fine!!

My scorpion race can was 101db*

*the scale is logarithmic, so although the numbers don't look it, 105 is quite a bit louder than 101.

Best thing to do is take your baffle with you if you are doing a trackday just in case.
1st day I did on the CB it registered 101db. 2nd day it was just over 105db, the guy let me off saying it was close enough.

I turned up at Oulton with my FZR race bike a few years ago. Apparently it was shoving out 109dB

I managed to talk them around and they let me on track. That was a Vance & Hines full race system, very very loud.

Careful though as some track days state 98dB.
