Default some advice please......

hi there,
i had an accident 9 months ago and when i received my bike back from the garage after 2 months the first thing i did was remove the battery, i am due back on in about 1 months time when the doctor gives me the nod, but don't know if i can just put the battery back on and ride.
is there anything i should do before i take the bike back on the road as i don't want to damage the engine or transmission.
thank you in advance guys.

lee.

So many variables here, but I'd check tyres, and sticky calipers, and if possible drain the petrol and fill with fresh. Most important thing here IMHO is YOU! You ready? First ride take a mate if you can and take it easy anyway, its a marathon not a sprint

The above and id give the battery a charge. If its not being used you are supposed to give it a charge every couple of months. There is a chance it might be borked.

I'd be inclined to give it a full service, as stnading around does nothing any good. At the very least an oil change, preferably coolant and brake fluid too.

But far better to do whats advised by sid squid/rictus, they're the ones with far more knowledge than me about it.
