Default car sterio........ again

just a quick question,

if i have a car that has the remote control buttons on the steering wheel with a cassette player and i put a CD player in (say the one i have in my current car that has no remote buttons) will they then not work?

would i have to buy a new special type of stereo for the remote buttons to work or will the adaptor cable in the back some how make them work?

Yes. There are loads of adapters out there, just make sure that the car doesn't run a can bus system.
I am upgrading the stereo in my Skoda and am having a real trial finding the relevent connectors. It looks like it will cost about 50 quid to get the steering wheel buttons to work.

I was lucky enough to find a kit on the shelf in halfords that connected my kenwood up to my vauxhall steering wheel and display. Was only about £40 ish.

when i used to mucka round with car stereos a longish time ago...KENWOOD were always compatible with the vauxhall steering remotes. They seemed to be the only stereo that was then.

Kenwood/....Vauxhall. Mad e for each other. Some of them even have a remote display adapter as well. Depends on the model.
