Default How does a restricted CARBED sv run?

I'm posting this for a mate. He is giving his curvy SV to his son. He isn't sure if he should restrict it in case it really messes it up. Just looking for some info on how the bike rides with the restriction in etc?

Doesn't mess anything up in my experience, its a good bike to have restricted.

I'm not restricted but I have come across a fair few SVs that are. They can give me and my unrestricted SV a run for my money. YC fairs well on one. They are a good bike to try to restrict as far as i know

The carbed bike copes better with restriction than the pointy, it has milder cams so has a bit more lower down grunt and doesn't suffer as badly from having it's nuts chopped off.

It does really mess any bike up, but that's what its supposed to do.

It doesn't do permanent damage anyway, that's about the best thing to be said about restricting a bike....

Be the same up to certain revs, then they tend to die off. Thats my experience with other restricted bikes.

Mines brilliant restricted gets up to 90 know problem and then it really does take ages to get towards 100mph (on track of course ) how can it mess the bike up its not exactly having the balls ragged off it is it? lol!

Good bikes to restrict, the Curvy is the better one running restricted too. They run great, I have ridden a couple after a quick service and to be honest they are far better than any other restricted bike I have test ridden!

Having done a few back to back rides with a restricted, unrestricted and the 750 the restricted feels faintly restricted in the lower revs and just feels out of breath in the upper revs but still pulls but just not as hard thats all. It is a good bike to have restricted, you can tinker/modify it as much as you want, and learn to ride a big bike without the power.

It won't mess anything up!

Ahhhh but restriction kits can mess bikes up, the FI int. kit for the R6's makes them run stupid rich. Mainly because FI int. are a bunch of tit's really...

Anyway, no, the kits for the carbed SV either the OEM sliders, or the FI int' washers both restrict it without any bad side effects. (except for some fairly major power loss )

well , if his son needs to have a restricted SV then he needs ot get it restricted!

I've had nothing but great ruddy fun on my restricted carb'd SV!!! It runs great; things got better after I fitted the fuel exhaust, and there is a noticable improvment when using shell v-power petrol for the throttle response.

The engine is most perky between 4500 rpm and 7500 rpm, but will pull from 2500 rpm (if a little shuddery). Two-up, with topbox, i've sat at 95 mph. I've seen 105 on the speedo.
