Default Front end wobble?

For some reason, I have noticed that if I take my hands off the bars on a straight level road, the bars wobble side to side very slightly. It doesnt really do it at low speed but anything about 50 or above it seems to be noticeable.

I think it might be down to the wheel balancing weights however have noticed that I havent lost any and they were replaced at the last tyre change.

Does anyone else know the reason for this and is it such a simple fix or could it be something more serious? (bearings for example)

I'd check tight head bearings, low/high tyre pressure, squared off rear tyre, and then swingarm bearings. Assuming no crash damage/bent forks or adaptations such as change of geometry thru raised rear dropped front etc. The sv is imho very stable and shouldn't do this if all ok

There might be a bit of a problem with high tyre pressures..........

I think I might have to check to see whether or not my gauge is working properly

Mine does this too, i have changed the front wheel as it was buckled, but even with the new one on its there, 6k latter and its getting worse now, im putting it down to the tyres as the front wheel has more lead on it than i have in me pencil and the rear is squaring off!

Definitely gonna check the pressures. I checked them at a mates this morning (warm after a 30 mile nsl blast) and they were about 41 however couldnt hang around long enough to test em cold with his machine. On mine they read 32 (manual gauge) but got a feeling it may be out.

Check your head bearings and tyre pressures first, if they are all ok then check the front wheel is balanced as you said. The SV doesn't need a steering damper (in any trim), and this will only mask a problem anyway.

The rs125 and 250 handle great. The 250 came 2nd/50 in a handling test done by one of the big mags, cant remember which one off hand.
