Default Newbie - what year should i get?

I have a chance to buy a 2002 or a 2004 (both in great condition for about the same price and same miles). Can someone describe why i might want either?

I realize they are different (curvey vs newer frame, etc), but have no idea what the opinions are out there.

Thanks for any advice.

First rule of sv650.org is no-one talks about Pointy vs Curvey

Second rule of sv650.org is no-one talks about colour.

Except you have gone and broken one of those.

So let me say, Pointy and red is best/fastest and bid you hello before all hell breaks loose

:P

All things being equal you should buy the newer bike if its the same money, but condition is everything.Service history, damage, umpteen owners,HPI all make a big difference so have a long hard look.Even check condition of tyres brake pads, and chain, and how long before a big service is due as these can add up to a fair bit of money.

err the new one obviously for the same money. It wont be as tired out and looks fresher. Being suzuki it wont be half as badly corroded either. and it will look better.

Biggles is correct; one of them may have e.g. a much better condition chain, for example

As far as I know, there are no major differences between the two models, so....pick the one you prefer
