I have been thinking a bit over the past week, that is something I would like to do. I have been lets under a lot of stress of pressure of late so if a good job or opportunity came up them right now I would think of taking it.
So what jobs can I do out there that involves bikes, that is fun and intresting? It has to be something that hold my interest and something that I can delvop and grow into. I was thinking as try to go for a reporter for a magazine ect when I got my degree. The only thing that I could see holding me back was no having a bike licence. But now I do. Just thinking out loud, to see what I could do instead. So any ideas then?? |

Well, mechanicing on your own isn't a long term prospect, they're making bikes less and less serviceable if you're not a main dealer

riding as a job surely will just take the pleasure away from your riding for fun... i thought you liked your job?

I do like my job, the problem is that I don't like being rookie.....and I have been beating myself up about what I got wrong ect. Its just way the way things are when you are new. But I'll feel different again tomorrow about everything.
I'm just very impatient andd want to know and do everything now, why wait eh? What I'm do want is to have a second job, something to along side what I do now. I have plenty of talent and skill to almost anything. So the question should have been what can do as a second job, or get involved with for fun? When I get sorted I intend to marshal, so that may be a good place start or not? As for riding for work, that what itend to do anyway hopefully soon as. |

![]() BT, you are very keen, but have you ever though that taking on another big project/thing in your life is just biting even a larger bit of cake? Something is going to give if you divide your attention too much ![]() If you are still keen on the racing/track bike then why not just concentrate on cracking that ... there is still plenty to learn there, not just riding but spannering too ![]() ![]() Have you booked your next trackday? Have you got your bike fixed since the mishap at silverstone? ![]() |

I Marshall for one of the bigger club racing groups and they give you £10 per day for you to put towards lunch or fuel etc. There is always free camping and hog roast etc in the evenings and a real good atmosphere. We are going to some european races this year to belgium etc and they pay for your ferry and accomodation and other stuff where they can. Its fun but most of the time you would rather be the one racing than the one picking people up ![]() Advantages are you sometimes get invited to marshall at bigger meets like BSB/WSB/MotoGP Last edited by G; 06-05-08 at 08:57 AM. |

Nope the bike is bits at the moment as it does need work doing to it, but I'm stuck. So its not going any where right now.
I'm have also been working on rasing some money, so should hear before the end of the month what suppourt I'm getting there. Also moving house currently live out of bags at the moment until my new place is ready. I couldn't stand where I was before, so had leave. This time next week I'll be on way to Belgium, I'm doing a race over there so you know one thing at a time. I wanted to Marshall this year this year, it more a case of having enough leave do it. Nope not really about the money either, I think it may be hard to cram anything else into what I'm doing. I more than occupied with work, the bike and everything else going on. |

Blimey a race in belgium, would it not have been easier, safer and less expensive to do a race in this country first
